A Better WOLVERHAMPTON

Safety & Traffic Concerns - North Wolverhampton/South Staffs

Donations accepted by Tettenhall District C.I.C on behalf of Tettenhall District Community Forum and Rock Action Group - Click HERE

The campaign supports The Rock Action group in Tettenhall who have stated that Wolverhampton City Council are "Losing Trust In The Community" and Tettenhall Community Forum have "No Faith In The Council" over their approach to the Rock Junction action plan, their handling of traffic proposal process, plus the avoidance of responsibility to broader issues, leaving safety and heritage concerns a great concern for the district.

Funding is for for our campaign and appeal concerning traffic around The Rock Junction, its immediate surrounds and traffic/environment concerns involving the greater area incl South Staffs and North Wolverhampton.

Our aims are:

- Obtaining rightful responses to our action plan, promotion and expenditure for its implementation.

- Safety , traffic and heritage campaign costs, upholding residents safety from protection from dangers arising from proposals from local planning authorities.

- Development of strategies and solutions for easier traffic outcomes for all in the district.

- Funding for complaints, appeals and community action including legal fees concerning The Rock Junction.

- Promotion of our campaign and its benefits to the wider North Wolverhampton and South Staffs area.

- Engaging and lobbying with local authorities, government and planning bodies on regional problems not being resolved alone by the local planning authority.

Funds are raised by Tettenhall District CIC on behalf of TDCT. Campaign spend is at the discretion of TDCT steering group/CIC Directors, subject to 2.5% Trust overheads. Residual Funds may be used for other Tettenhall Wards community interests.

A better Wolverhampton for all.

ROCK ACTION PLAN

About The Rock Action Plan

The Tettenhall District Community Trust (TDCT) has proposed several alternatives to the Wolverhampton City Council's A41 traffic proposals. Here are some key suggestions from their Rock Junction Action Plan:

1. Three-Way Traffic Lights: Instead of the proposed one-way system, TDCT suggests installing three-way traffic lights to improve safety and traffic flow.

2. Enhanced Pedestrian Safety: Implementing measures to ensure pedestrian safety, such as better crossings, pedestrian access to Smestow Valley and pedestrian signals.

3. Community Engagement: Ensuring ongoing consultation and engagement with residents to address their concerns and incorporate their feedback into the planning process.

4. Environmental Considerations: Incorporating environmentally friendly solutions to reduce the impact on the local environment.

5. Following best practice international safety and pollution research to safeguard residents in the local area from dangers due to traffic diversions in one way streets and from excessive pollution in narrow tree lined streets.

6. Engineering works to widen lane widths allowing traffic queues, right hand turns and the collection of Civil Infrastructure Levy from other councils which cause congestion and which Wolverhampton Council ignores.

These suggestions aim to create a safer and more efficient traffic system while addressing the community's concerns and preserving the character of the area.
